Summary
Founded in 1978, KOEI is one of Japan's leading developers/publishers. The company entered the western market in 1988 when it established its US subsidiary, KOEI Corporation, before expanding in Asia with the establishment of two development studios in mainland China, Tianjin KOEI in 1989 and Beijing KOEI in 1992.
In the west, KOEI is best known for its Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Dynasty Warriors series'.
Software Highlights from Credited Titles
Koei's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1989 title, "Nobunaga's Ambition" (NES).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC, PSP, DS, GameCube, GBA, PlayStation, Xbox, N64, SNES, 3DO, NEC PC Engine and NES. Of these, "Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires" (Xbox 360) has been a best selling title.
The company is currently involved with the forthcoming 2010 release "Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce" (Xbox 360).
