A games developer based in the north west of England, Bizarre Creations was founded in 1988 by Martyn Chudley. Developing titles initially for the 8- and 16-bit computer market, including 'The Killing Game Show' for the Amiga, Atari ST and Sega Megadrive, the company's first PlayStation title was 'Formula 1'. This became a best selling game in Europe in 1996 that, together with its sequel, 'Formula 1 97', sold over 4 million units. The company went on to produce 'Fur Fighters', a cartoon action game for Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and PC.

A significant point in the company's future was realised with the release of 'Metropolis Street Racer' (MSR). A unique racing game for the Sega Dreamcast, the game became the template for the original Xbox's "must have" racing title, 'Project Gotham Racing' (PGR). Going on the spawning a whole ream of sequels, MSR's key features - racing around carefully recreated cities pulling of slides and drifts to earn "kudos" points - are still a prominent feature in the latest Project Gotham releases.
