It'll be a cold day in Korea when you get your hands on Electronic Arts' and Crytek's latest shooter, Crysis - literally.

The year is 2079, and a whopping great asteroid has found its way out of space and into North Korea. The government there quickly seals off the island chain and declares the asteroid for itself. Bad call, guys. Firstly, it attracts the attention of the Americans, who send in a team of Delta Force Operators to recon the situation and report back to the Pentagon. Secondly, the asteroid cracks open to reveal a massive, 2km high alien spaceship which promptly starts freezing huge tracts of North Korea's tropical landscape. The alien invasion has begun.

That, if you hadn't guessed, is where you step in. Players will take on a pivotal role in turning back the alien tide in true first-person shooter style. Aiding you will be your nano-suit, which gives players abilities including speed, strength, a stealth mode and defensive powers.

Award-winning developer Crytek isn't going to make it easy, either. An AI using real world military tactics and masses of cover will make turning the tide no mean feat.

With online multiplayer for up to 32 gamers and a rich mod set with which to build your own level, Crysis offers a deep experience for FPS fans. << less
