It’s total mayhem, as the battle contestants not only waste each other’s tanks, but everything in their path to win the title!
Donning six-inch heavy armour and more guns than you can shake a rather large shell at, World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks is the ultimate in spectacle entertainment. It’s an over the top battle-tournament where the contenders fight it out using tanks. This mega-event is broadcast on a television network throughout its post-apocalyptic society. The tournaments take place in battle-stages at famous locations all around the world. While the WDL has outrageous attitude and over-done action, the competitors take it very serious and they’ll stop at destroying nothing in order to win the championship title.
With nine monstrous tanks, each with its own devastating abilities, and nine ferocious competitors, World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks will be leaving hefty track marks in landmarks world-wide. From Red Square to the leaning Tower of Pisa, no building will be left undemolished as manic match-ups are broadcast to WDL fans around the globe.
With typical showmanship and flair, competitions are compèred by two outrageous WDL announcers from any one of five different post-apocalyptic arenas in areas such as Moscow, Tokyo, Italy, NORAD and more.
The ammo ‘up the spout’ in this brick-crushing title is the variety of match-ups available. With over eight different types of competitive play including Battle Lord, King of the Hill, Deathmatch, Family Mode, Renegade, Frenzy, Gauntlet, Destruction and two-player split-screen mayhem, this is one game guaranteed never to run out of fuel.
World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks will be published by 3DO Europe for Game Boy Color on October 27th 2000, PlayStation on November 24th 2000 and PlayStation 2 in March 2001.
