Established in 1986, Codemasters is a leading developer and publisher of best-selling interactive entertainment products for a global audience on current and future gaming platforms and channels. Codemasters genre-leading brands include Colin McRae Rally, Touring Cars, Micro Machines/Maniacs, and LMA Manager. With an annual turnover in excess of $100 million, the company is headquartered in Southam, Warwickshire, UK where it employs over 400 staff, and maintains European operations in Germany, France, Spain, Benelux and plans to set up operations in Scandinavia. The company entered the US publishing market in 1999 and has an online gaming US-based development facility in Oakhurst, CA.
Codemasters's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1984 title, "Vampire" (Spectrum 48K).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, 3DS/2DS, PSVita, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, DS/DSi, PS2, PSP, Xbox, GameCube, GBA, PlayStation, Game Boy Color, N64, Game Boy, Saturn, Sega Megadrive, SNES, Amiga, ST, Mac, Game Gear, Sega Master System, C64, Spectrum 48K, Sinclair Spectrum 128K and Amstrad CPC. Of these, "Colin McRae Rally" (PlayStation), "Brian Lara Cricket" (PlayStation), "Colin McRae Rally 2.0" (PC), "ToCA 2 Touring Cars" (PC), "Racedriver: GRID" (PS3) has been a best selling title.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2019 release "GRID" (Xbox One).
