In 1998, 12 veteran game makers created Black Box Games. Their goal was to make high quality video games in a workspace that was relaxed, supportive, and fun. In July of 2002, Black Box Games joined forces with Electronic Arts.

EA Black Box's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2000 title, "NASCAR 2001" (PlayStation).

The company has been involved titles released on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC, DS, GBA, PlayStation and Xbox. Of these, "Need for Speed: Underground" (Xbox), "Need For Speed: Undercover" (PS2), "Need For Speed: Undercover" (PS3) and "Need For Speed: Undercover" (Xbox 360) have been best selling titles.

The company is currently involved with the forthcoming 2010 release "Skate 3" (Xbox 360).
