Electronic Arts has served up a video for Skate 3 in order to announce the game's May 2010 release on Xbox 360 and PS3. You can see it below.
Guess what? It's all about the social and community aspects, just like real skateboarding - unless you're a loner who just likes to skateboard.
Says Senior Producer, Jason DeLong, "We’re giving gamers a very unique experience by providing them with the tools they need to build their ultimate team or to create a team comprised entirely of their online friends. From there, it’s all about proving yourself – teaming up, and throwing down."
And will there be a shop in order to increase the jolly old sell-through (beloved of Activision Blizzard's Robert - Bobby - Kotick)? We reckon so, given this:
"Players who pre-order Skate 3 get an unlock code that gives them exclusive access to the iconic Black Box Distribution Skate Park, home turf of Zero, Mystery, and Fallen skate teams. Black Box Distribution was founded in 2000 by Jamie Thomas, and houses and distributes some of skateboarding’s biggest selling brands ."
We don't reckon that pre-orderers will see the iconic park as their exclusive territory for eternity though. That would be, like, so unfair.
