A natty competition open at
skillset.org offers a double whammy chance of touring Sony’s Cambridge Studio and acting as a spy for SPOnG, the world’s greatest videogame site.
A competition on the site states, “You could win a day's work experience at Sony Computer Entertainment's Cambridge Studio. You'll get to see how games are made; meet the people behind them including artists and programmers; and have the chance to play some of the latest blockbusters before anyone else! You'll also get a PlayStation goody bag!”
Not bad eh? You’ll also get the chance to tell us all about what you saw, providing us with various documents and disc you stuffed into your lunchbox when no one was looking.
The rules? “To enter email Skillset a treatment of your ultimate computer game idea. Your treatment should be a brief outline of no more than 300 words. You may also include images if available.”
Brilliant! Not only do you get to spy for SPOnG, you get to see our long-pipelined Drugs Sex Death: Headline Grabber FPS become a glorious reality! Also, it isn’t so. The competition page concludes, “Please note that this competition will not result in your idea being made into an actual game.
Curses.
However. If you do fancy seeing the fruits of your talent in tangible form, there’s another competition open
over at the BBC website. Click here for details.
