Rockstar would seem to be unphased by the possible impending purchase of its parent company, Take-Two, by Electronic Arts. It wants you to remain unfazed, too.
A visit to
Rockstar's website (if you use Internet Explorer, anyway - we tried it in our browser of choice first and that didn't work) will flash up an image advising you to, "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON".
SPOnG put in a call to Rockstar for a bit more information on the image, but none was forthcoming. It looks, however, very much like a reaction to the fact that it may soon be absorbed into EA.
So, maybe it's actually advising itself to keep calm and carry on? Or maybe it's just bored out of its mind what with
GTA IV almost ready to ship.
EA, if you've had your head up a tramps bottom for the last week, recently
made an unsolicited offer to Take-Two's board to buy the company for just shy of $2 billion (£967 million).
The Rockstar team is a notorious bunch, having got Take-Two into all sorts of bother with the likes of the
'Hot Coffee' scandal. Many see keeping the creative talent there on side as one of the biggest hills EA will have to climb in its proposed acquisition of Take Two Interactive goes ahead.
Anyway, enough of those corporate shenanigans. SPOnG put its latest
GTA IV hands-on up last night, we suggest you take a look
here and then moan at Tim SPOnG on the Forum.
