Summary
DICE returns with the latest in the acclaimed Battlefield series of first person shooters. One of the biggest releases of 2011, the game will provide thrills for all, no matter how they choose to play. For those who prefer to stand alone, the single player campaign takes place on the Iran/Iraq border as the US Marines face insurgents from all sides. An online co-op mode is also included for those who prefer a score-attack.
The main thrust with Battlefield 3 is, as always, the multiplayer. With players taking on one of four roles, some offensive, some defensive. The range of options available will include the usual formats expected from a high quality, from team and squad deathmatches to last man standing bulletstorms. Players will also be able to use the brand new Battlelog social system to co-ordinate games.
DICE aims to provide the most realistic environments in a game ever through the use of their new Frostbite 2 engine. With more advanced destruction modelling than any previous game in the series, everything is a potential target and gamers will happily take it all down. Characters also look more realistic than ever before thanks to the introduction of ANT technology and everything comes together to provide a truly "real" world.
With high quality graphics, sound and gameplay coming together, EA and DICE are hoping that when it comes to the Battle for Gamers, victory will fall on their side.
