Catapulting the franchise into the next-generation (surely the current generation by now!?) SC4 flexes its graphical muscle to bring about a new look for characters, weapons and environments alike.

With dazzling high-definition graphics on show (as long as you have the requisite gear on which to watch) SC4 offers an entirely new battle system that may well surprise a few fighting game vets. Featuring an expanded customisation mode, the game allows players to personalise a character to a certain extent, to look and perform as they desire. Also, for the first time in the franchise, customised fighters or original characters can be taken online to challenge others for the number one spot in this much-admired series.

And if you can't be bothered with customising a character of your own, and the older ones just don't appeal any more, Jedi Master Yoda is available as a guest character in the Xbox 360 version. Yes, a SoulCalibur/Star Wars interface - whatever next? << less
