THQ, famous for its ongoing ventures into the world of virtual motorbike racing, has finally released the Xbox version of one of its more popular titles, MX Superfly. Following a good six months after its PS2 and GameCube counterparts, MX Superfly on Xbox looks to be the best of the bunch as it arrives on the world's most powerful console.

In the game, players reap the rewards of racing through an entire season of the sport while upgrading their gear and bike along the way. For some free ride fun, they can also compete in an all-new freestyle career mode, dazzling the crowd with new tricks and manoeuvres, or simply riding around the open terrain at their leisure, searching for secret areas.

As well as the ever-present Ricky Carmichael himself, the game also features 26 other pro riders, taken from an all-new roster from the 125cc and 250cc freestyle ranks. Alternatively, a Create-a-Rider option allows for the customisation of players' own characters, offering big name sponsors, six major bike manufacturers and authentic equipment to choose from. The better you are, the more money you earn, and the more stuff you can buy.

A total of 25 motocross, supercross, amateur and freestyle tracks feature throughout, including well known courses such as Loretta Lynn's, the Outdoor Nationals, the Free Ride Moto-X Championships and the THQ US Open. Failing that, a track editor is at hand, enabling the creation of ramps, jumps and a variety of obstacles to test the limits of the bike.

Five different multi-player modes, including racing, freestyle and a selection of mini games round things off, making for a multifarious motocross extravaganza. << less
