The gameplay is simple and easy enough to learn. Kao has a special attack that he can call on whenever he gets into trouble or he can punch the enemies with his boxing gloves. The most important move to master is jumping. There are lots of delicate, precision jumps that have to made, so brushing up on this technique will prove invaluable. The best way to gauge his jump is by watching his shadow. This can be very helpful when leaping from one floating platform to another. As soon as his shadow is over the intended landing destination you know hes safe.
The graphics in Kao are really astounding, colourful and detailed. It looks like you are playing an interactive cartoon. Kao is a challenging game, it will take a long time to complete and find all of the secrets. Luckily, you can save your progress to the memory card so you wont have to keep doing the same levels over and over.
Overall, Kao is a good title, perfectly suited to kids who like a challenging, addictive game.
