In Tokyo this morning, SNK PlayMore made a show-stopping announcement, revealing King of Fighters 2003 to the world for the first time.
Although precious little was revealed, the game will feature polygon-rich graphics, hinting that Sammy’s Atomiswave has been selected as the new platform of choice, replacing the ancient Neo Geo MVS coin-op system.
It was stated that the three-on-three idea will be ditched in favour of a new “more flexible” game system, whatever that means.
The only other thing decipherable at this point is that it will hit the arcades this summer, followed by a PlayStation 2 release late next year.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
