The hardcore favourite, responsible for such classics as Metal Slug and the King of Fighters series, has been officially re-launched in the United States and looks set to expand into Europe next year, according to Gamespot's E3 interview with NeoGeo USA company president Ben Herman. The company, that went bankrupt last year when it was unable to prove that its debt was surmountable, has been resurrected by Playmore, the Japanese Pachinko giant that acquired SNK's resulting IP's at the time.
What this all means is that all the SNK favourites are set to make a return, starting with the titles that were on show at E3: King of Fighters 2001, Metal Slug 4 and the imminent SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos. Also hinted at was the release of a KOF 2000/2001 compilation for the PS2 before the end of the year, as well as some type of Metal Slug title for GBA.
Full details should emerge soon, we'll keep our ears to the ground.
