Microsoft’s online gaming service, Xbox Live, has immediately sold out at American retail, with gamers seemingly finding the brilliant and groundbreaking offer irresistible.
The Xbox Live Starter Kit, which comprises an Xbox Communicator Headset, a one-year subscription to the service and two game demos, costs a mere $49.
Of the 150,000 initial batch of kits shipped to retail, all have sold out, good news for Microsoft, Xbox Live and online gaming in general. Microsoft also reported that sales of Xbox hardware, powered by Xbox Live, rose 18% in week-on-week comparisons.
