A new games rating system will be launched into Europe next year, we have discovered.
Organised by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) the system will give more explicit details as to a game’s content than the current Euro standard, the ELSPA rating.
The categories are sex, violence, drugs, fear, discrimination and bad language and come complete with little cute logos depicting the various evils.
“The purpose is to provide consumers throughout Europe with intelligible, easy to act on information about the age categories for which the content of a product is deemed suitable,” said Roger Bennett of ELSPA.
Expect to see these logos on game boxes early next year.
