Original Xbox controller bites the dust

We can reveal that Xbox controller Model X08-17160 (the colossal original pad as first seen at American launch) will no longer be manufactured by Microsoft. In fact, Microsoft has confirmed that production has already ceased.
In a complete turn-around, the Xbox will now only be bundled with the much-preferred and smaller Controller S as first seen at the Xbox’s Japanese launch.
According to Microsoft, the decision was made as a direct result of overwhelming public support for the Controller S. You may have noticed that all future Xbox bundles feature the smaller pad. It’s also worth noting that practically no one has bought a Model X08-17160 since the Controller S became available.
This is excellent news for gamers and shows that Microsoft is indeed staying true to its promises of listening and reacting to feedback from the gaming community.
