Microsoft has declared that sales of Xbox have risen sharply in the wake of the recent £100 price hack, it was revealed today.
According to Microsoft sources, Xbox sales now represent 49 percent of the next-generation home console market in the United Kingdom, 46 percent in France and 55 percent in Germany. As well as strong sales, Microsoft pointed out that the attach rate for the Xbox is strong, with consumers buying an average of 3.7 games each.
How much of a dent the GameCube will make on these figures remains to be seen, as a price-based consumer-friendly console war reaches boiling point.
