It would appear that a Korean firm is making what looks like an online RPG based in the world of King Of Fighters. Though few details are available at this time, the game is looking like a KOF/Phantasy Star Online hybrid.
The company would appear to be called KOF World, and has been good enough to provide several screenshots of the work in progress. On the official website, there are lots of references to the entire King Of Fighters series, sparking us to speculate that this might be an RPG front-end that enables people to play any of the games since 1994, online and in real-time.
Korea is the home of online gaming, with more netplay per capita than anywhere else in the world. Capcom recently set up an office in Korea, with the specific instruction to further the company’s online scope. Perhaps SNK’s new friend is behind this project.
