Activision CEO Closing on MySpace Purchase
It comes as no surprise to discover that Activision/Blizzard CEO Robert - Bobby - Kotick has more fingers in the commercial pie shop than running the successful games company. What is a little surprising is that his investment group is going to buy ailing social networking site MySpace from Rupert Murdoch's News International.

According to Reuters, "An investor group including Activision Blizzard Chief Executive Officer Bobby Kotick is in final talks to take a controlling stake in News Corp's social network site Myspace, according to three people familiar with the matter."

Apparently, "Kotick was approached by the investor group in recent weeks and has not yet made a full commitment to the Myspace project, one of the people said."

Although he's leading the group, it is rumoured that any investment he makes in the buy-out will be a small one.

Cheers to Develop for the steer.
