RARE Gets New Studio Head - Microsoft Man Steps In
UK games developer RARE is due to receive a new studio manager to head up the studio under Microsoft's ownership. That man is Scott Henson - formerly product unit manager at Microsoft's game technology group - who has been deeply involved with Kinect development.

Henson - who replaces Mark Betteridge, who remains at the company - will move with his family to Birmingham where the developer is based.

He commented on the move, explaining that, "The timing is actually perfect. I’ve worked on Xbox since before the original Xbox. I helped bring Xbox Live to life, which has reached millions of people. Rare over the last 25 years is the same story."

He also pointed out that, "How I envision Rare, is that they'll continue to innovate, continue to partner with folks like the Platform team - that's part of my heritage - and continue to bring those experiences to life. When I look at what they've accomplished in that domain, I see a very bright future."

"I think we're very strongly positioned around Kinect Sports, he told GI.biz, "so we'll just build on that success."

We'll be watching what your direction bring s from the studio that created Perfect Dark and Goldeneye over the next couple of years Henson. Make us proud.
