Japan Hardware: PS2 Is The Only Winner
After the PlayStation 3's sales boost last week, things have calmed down a little bit in the Japanese Hardware Charts (29th March - 4th April 2010, courtesy Media Create). Despite the comedown from last week's Fist of the North Star game launch, Sony's console still edges out the Wii by a substantial margin.

Home Console
PS3: 38,877 (50,448)
Wii: 30,938 (36,849)
360: 2,676 (3,002)
PS2: 1,815 (1,785)

Handheld
PSP: 37,445 (46,449)
DSi LL: 21,583 (23,188)
DSi: 15,526 (17,376)
DS Lite: 4,110 (4,995)
PSP Go: 1,803 (1,874)

(Previous week's unit sales in brackets for comparison)

Figures are down across the board this week, even though several new releases have sold well in this week's Software Chart. The only console to make a gain at all is the PlayStation 2, which sees a small boost on the back of surprising sales of Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2010. It's enough to edge the PSP Go to the bottom of the charts.

The drop in PSP 1000-series sales means that the Nintendo DS family collectively outsells it – the first time it has done so in weeks. This is in spite of a continuous slide in sales for the dual-screen handheld. It's probably a good thing Nintendo are due to reveal more details on the 3DS later this year.
