A revolutionary hero who empowered the downtrodden or a mentally challenged, psychotic ego-maniac? We're talking about every middle class wannabe campesino's poster boy, Che Guevara. Why? Well, it's the ubiquitous Alberto Korda image of the freedom fighter/terrorist that now greets you when you head to Peter Molyneux's
Lionhead Studios.
The image is accompanied by the text: "At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love."
There are also a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down for you to click on. Your choice dictates which part of the website you'll be taken to. There is also a large, grey, '6' or maybe an upside-down '9'.
So, in an apparently irony-free statement of intent a Microsoft-owned studio is using a dead communist to sell games; you've got to appreciate the brassneck. As far as we can see the change to the site is in advance of Lionhead announcing a new game (or maybe a new
Natal smoke-and-mirror act) at the forthcoming GamesCom convention in Cologne.
