Surely, It's a Home Banker

Microsoft at E3. Oh dear!

Posted by Staff
Microsoft's showing at E3 wasn't everything that it could've, should've been. With a homegrown console, a dozen or so games to show off, and all those millions of dollars thrown at the project, Bill Gates must have thought he could sit back and take the plaudits. Not so, we can report.

Even Microsoft's fellow Americans gave the Xbox, if not the virtual finger, then whatever their equivalent of a Gallic shrug may be. We spoke to lots of folks from all around the world and not a single soul had been overwhelmed by what they had seen on Microsoft's stand. Earlier this year, the Xbox got a chilly, even hostile, reception at the Tokyo Game Show, and pretty much the same thing has happened here.

There are a couple of things that the majority of people here agreed on, regarding the Xbox: The pad felt good and Dead Or Alive 3 looked nice. Faint praise, then. We expected much better.
