Mass Effect Gets... More Mass!

Will it affect our attitude towards giant rocks in space?

Mass Effect fans who want more of the game to sink their teeth into will soon be able to get it. Microsoft has just announced that it will be releasing the first downloadable content for the Sci-Fi RPG in March.

The new pack will go by the name 'Bring Down the Sky' and will see release on March 10th at 10am (GMT). It will offer somewhere in the region of 90 minutes of play and include an Achievement worth 50 Gamerscore points. 400 Microsoft Points is what it will cost you.

So, what exactly does the pack offer? We'll let Microsoft tell you. "'Bring Down the Sky' includes a new uncharted world that introduces the notorious and feared alien race of the Batarians. A Batarian extremist group has hijacked a mobile asteroid station in the Asgard system, setting it on a collision course with the nearby colony world of Terra Nova. Only Commander Shepard can save the millions of innocent civilians before the asteroid completes its deadly descent."

So, there you go: Millions of innocent folk... Asteroid... Only you can save them. This reminds SPOnG of the time NASA called us up and asked us to head up into space to drill into an asteroid in order to drop a nuke down the hole and save mankind from an extinction event.

SPOnG does have its misgivings about the content, however. As 'expert' psychologist Cooper Lawrence so helpfully pointed out on Fox News, "We know that all the research shows violence has a desensitising effect. Well, sexuality does too".

So, we've already been desensitised by sexuality - yeah, sexuality, it's so... 'Wot-eva'.

We're now concerned that we'll be desensitised by asteroids. SPOnG's concerned that next time NASA calls us up to prevent a celestial body hitting the Earth, we'll just say "Meh" and then shout at some unfortunate woman to get us another beer.

You can read more about Mass Effect over on SPOnG's dedicated game page.

Its funny how I get abuse for my comments when most of the time Spongs comments on something like in the above arcticle are usually complete nonsense...

Thanks for the info about the content...Its a shame you couldnt talk more about it and how 400points is extremely good value for 90mins of more gaming in Mass Effect and its a shame you couldnt perhaps at the same time approach Bioware perhaps on a patch to fix the stuttering?

Instead you ramble on about asteroids and just take the piss instead.

Well, you could always sod off somewhere else, Saiyan.

There are some massive distinctions between what SPOnG write and what you write. SPOnG articles are well-written and informative with a wonderful, wry sense of humour.
Your posts are written like a pre-pubescent monger who is yet to learn any grammatical skills, and are tainted by an undeniable and unavoidable bias. Perhaps if you took your penis out of your 360 for a while and went to school, you might learn things such as "how to write a paragraph that contains more than one sentence and includes some form of appropriate punctuation" or "how to put your point across in a debate without coming across as an adolescent moron".

You may think it's "funny" how you get abuse for your comments, but actually it's perfectly understandable: it's because you have jack-s**t to say; yet say it anyway; and say it really, really badly. It doesn't help that your signature is full of boast about your set-up, when nobody around here gives a s**t. That just comes across as smug, and smugness does not make one popular.

And now you come here and slag off the SPOnG staff's journalistic style? You are beyond belief. What a clever move. I suggest you go and frequent a site like Kotaku instead. They have a heavy 360 bias and are full of idiots shouting ungrammatical bullshit.
