Square again repositions its Euro publishing strategy

Square signs with Sony

SquareSoft has announced that it will finally be centralising its European publishing strategy, announcing a new deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

The deal will see the much-needed coming together of Square’s European operation, which is fairly fragmented with different titles being handled by outsourced publishers and distributors.

This may also be the break Euro RPG fans have been waiting for. If a centralised strategy for the movement of Square games is put into place, the company might see the sense in releasing some of its Japanese and American only titles over here.

The new deal will see Final Fantasy X and The Bouncer published in Europe by Sony.
