Microsoft denies delay rumours
Microsoft has gone on record in an attempt to quash rumours that the Xbox will not be ready for launch in 2002.

The announcement comes after weeks of speculation that the console would not have enough game support, especially in the Japanese territory.

“The Xbox will debut in the Fall of this year as planned,” said a company official. “We have the strongest support of any games platform meaning the line up for the launch date will make Xbox a must have console. We have had massive support from Japanese developers, securing deals with all the big players. The Xbox is poised to take its rightful place at the forefront of home digital interactive entertainment when it is released later this year.”

In other news, it is expected that the Xbox will have a built in V-Chip-style parental control feature as standard. This will allow parents to supervise the content of both the Internet and games on the console. An announcement is expected at E3 in May this year.
