The games industry's prone to grumbling about the lack of graduates with the skills necessary to begin work. With that in mind, SPOnG's pleased to see someone pulling their finger out and getting involved with students.
Blitz Games has announced a series of open days for UK-based students and lecturers on games related courses. The four events will give attendees the opportunity to gain some insight into the inner workings of a games studio. This year's Open Days are on the 16th and 23rd of March (for students) and the 30th March and 13th April (for lecturers/educators).
Building on the success of last year's Open Days Blitz, the developer behind
SpongeBob Squarepants: Creature from the Krusty Krab, will open its doors to 100 students and lecturers over the four dates.
Kim Blake, Open Day Coordinator at Blitz Games commented, "We were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of students who attended last year and firmly believe that it's crucial for the industry to work much more closely with our future employees. As consoles become ever more popular so does the demand for content increases and we want to be at the forefront of developing that content - to do that we need the best people."
