Established in 1990, Blitz Games began life is an independent games development company formed by Philip & Andrew Oliver, who started writing games in 1981, with their first published titles appearing in 1984.

Blitz Games is based in Leamington Spa and boasts over 190 staff. The Oliver’s are responsible for developing over 100 games since the early 1980s and their company has recently had SpongeBob Squarepants: Creature from the Krusty Krab and Bratz: Forever Diamondz in the UK charts. It has also sold more than 3.2 million copies of it’s Burger King games in the USA in the first two months since release and has had a successful launch of Konami Revolution presents: American Idol.

The award winning, independent developers who work across all platforms (including PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii), have recently been voted as ‘Employers of Choice’ by local government.

With four divisions (Blitz Games for family games, Volatile Games for mature games, Blitz Arcade for downloadable games and Trusim for serious games), Blitz continues its huge long-term investment into BlitzWare, its in-house technology, which helps to provide one of the best game development environments of any independent developer.

Software Highlights from Credited Titles

Blitz Games's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2000 title, "Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge" (PC).

The company has been involved titles released on the PC, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, DS/DSi, PS2, PSP, Xbox, GameCube, GBA, PlayStation and Dreamcast. Of these, "Bad Boys II" (PC), "iCarly" (DS/DSi), "Bratz: Rock Angelz" (GBA), "Lilo and Stitch: Trouble in Paradise" (PlayStation), "Chicken Run" (Dreamcast) has been a best selling title.

The company's most recent involvement was on the 2011 release "Puss in Boots" (Wii).
