Oliver Twins Launch Kickstarter for Dizzy Returns
Cartoon platforming egg, Dizzy, could be the next forgotten hero to see a triumphant comeback - if creators Philip and Andrew Oliver manage to raise £350,000 in the next month.

The Oliver Twins have established a Kickstarter campaign to appeal to nostalgic gamers of the 1980s and 1990s in order to get a new game, Dizzy Returns, made for PC and iOS devices. Blitz Games is named as the game's developer should the pair reach their target.

"It's been 20 years since the last game in the original series (Crystal Kingdom Dizzy) and he's not been seen in a new adventure since then. But with your help we can set that right!," reads the fundraising page.

"Our aim is not to just reboot an old Dizzy game though. We want to stay true to the spirit and core ideals of the original series, whilst utilising the platforms, technology and resources we now have at our disposal. We believe that Dizzy Returns is a perfect fit for mobile gaming, and touch screen technology obviously means that we can experiment with and implement new mechanics and new ways of playing in Dizzy Returns."

The studio aims to expand upon the Dizzy lore and universe, with Dizzy Returns seeking to outline events that have taken place in the two decades that have passed since the last game. Blitz has a release target of Q3 2013 for the game, should it get funded. At time of writing, the page has raised £1,307.
