Ray Maguire

Ray Maguire joined Sony Electronic Publishing Limited in 1993 as Director of Sales for Europe. Prior to this appointment Ray was a Sales Manager for SEGA (UK), where he was responsible for the introduction of the Mega Drive.

With the formation of Sony Computer Entertainment in 1994, Ray was then promoted to Managing Director of SCE UK. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities of the UK PlayStation division and it's operational functions.

Ray and his team successfully launched the PlayStation in 1995 onto the UK market to much acclaim - a market that had until then been dominated by Sega and Nintendo. The product proved to be a great success and soon established itself firmly as the market leader in the UK.

The UK launch of PlayStation 2 followed in 2000 and again, replicated the success of the original PlayStation - the first time in this market that a second platform had maintained market leadership, thus taking computer gaming entertainment to a new level. With over 7 million original PlayStations and 4 million PlayStation 2s currently installed in UK homes, the challenge for Ray and the Sony PlayStation team now turns to the Online and portable arenas

Ray and his team at SCE are committed to ensuring that the PlayStation in all its formats will continue to be the most successful and enduring computer entertainment platforms.
