Tom studied Software Engineering at the University of Birmingham for three years while desperately trying to work out (as most students are) what to do afterwards.
Getting a job in the games industry wasn't considered by the employment advice centre as a sensible option, but Tom applied anyway, through the "jobs wanted" section in Edge, and landed a job with Blitz Games (then Interactive Studios) as a PlayStation programmer on Action Man: Mission Xtreme. Tom is still at Blitz, now working on his third game, and this time there's not an Action Man in sight.
Tom Gaulton's first video game work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1999 title, "Action Man: Mission Xtreme" (PlayStation) as Programmer.
Tom's most recent involvement was as Programmer on the 2000 release "Action Man: Destruction X" (PlayStation).
