It Don't Mean A Thing If You Aint Got That Swing

Virgin Interactive gains publishing rights to Swing's extensive line-up.

Virgin Interactive today announced that it has reached an agreement with Swing Entertainment Media AG for the rights to distribute it's extensive line up of interactive entertainment titles, spanning all formats, exclusively throughout Europe.

The agreement, which starts with immediate effect, gives Virgin exclusive distribution rights throughout Europe for all of the new titles from the European software maker for a minimum of eighteen months, as well as access to it's quality back catalogue. Boasting an immediate range of more than twenty titles which span all genres, Swing! have also guaranteed to expand its product range in the direction of "next generation" platforms including Playstation 2 and by already supporting all future consoles at the present point in time, Swing! continues to extend its multi-platform strategy for forward-looking technology.

Some of the confirmed product highlights are listed below. Magical Drop, a puzzle game for PlayStation and Gameboy Color, Record of Lodoss War, an RPG fantasy for the Dreamcast and Search and Rescue 2, a flight simulation for PC.

Alongside these original titles, Swing has developed some excellent licensed products including Tiny Toon Adventures: Toonenstein Dare to Scare, an adventure game for the Playstation, The Land Before Time, a platformer for the Gameboy Color, and THE FLINTSTONES, starring in Burgertime in Bedrock, a platformer also for the Gameboy Color.

Commenting on the distribution deal, Sean Brennan, Managing Director and COO of Virgin Interactive said: "This agreement allows us to establish a great relationship with this prolific publisher. Swing have some great titles and the company is happy to be able to include them in our release schedule for 2000."
