Sports Interactive has made a bid for the nation’s most beloved marketing creation of recent times, ITV Digital’s ‘Monkey’ character.
Quick to spot the potential of the Monkey business, Sports Interactive was among the first to put in a bid for the rights to the Monkey character. A successful bid would also result in Sports Interactive taking responsibility for liberating the thousands of Monkey cuddly toys currently imprisoned in a warehouse at an undisclosed address in battery farm style conditions.
Sports Interactive’s Managing Director, Miles Jacobson, commented, “All of us at SI love the Monkey character as much as anyone else. We can see the potential for further use of the character and would be delighted to see him associated with Sports Interactive and Championship Manager in the future.
"We’ve been speaking to the administrators this week, along with, it seems, just about every other company in the country. As many of them have gone public with expressing their interest, we thought we would too. It’s not so much of a dog eat dog situation, rather more like a ‘quickly, quickly, catchy Monkey’ type arrangement. Suffice to say, we’ve all got our fingers crossed!”
Sports Interactive is not divulging the amount of the offer it has made, but can confirm it is more than a monkey.
