Adapted from the second biggest grossing film of all time in France following Titanic, Asterix & Obelix Take on Caesar has hit the PlayStation and is destined to become one of the most addictive Tetris-style games of 2000.
The game, which features leading French film actor, Gerard Depardieu, is released 14 April 2000 by Cryo Interactive (£29.99) and coincides with the nationwide Easter theatrical release of Claude Zidi's film of the same name.
To capture all the magic of the film, the faces of actors Gerard Depardieu and Christian Clavier, (who play Oblelix and Asterix in the blockbuster movie), have been modelled in 3D, especially for the game.
Both the film and the game also feature Roberto Benigni (Best Actor Oscar winner for Life is Beautiful), as Caesar, and French actress Laetitia Casta, as the beautiful Panacea.
Jam-packed with fantastic challenges backed up by varied tests of speed, skill and quick-thinking, Asterix & Obelix Take on Caesar is set in a stunning graphic re-creation of classic cartoon sets.
Many tasks await our two heroes including:punching the flying fish escaping from the classic village Fish Fight, serving roast boar to the starving banquet guests in Feast for the Hungry, rescuing Getafix the Druid in Gathering Mistletoe and
chasing away those pesky Roman legionnaires in Terrible Testudos!
