Sony has announced details of its Gamescom press conference. It will take place on 14th August at 7pm local time (for Germans, basically - for those in the UK, it'll be 6pm). The big event is to be held at the Staatenhaus am Rheinpark in Cologne.
What can we expect? Well, Sony usually likes to use Gamescom as a platform to announce hardware revisions and major announcements. Sony likes Europe, you see. The company unveiled the PS3 Slim back in 2009, and a bunch of new console SKUs in 2010.
This year is likely to be heavy on the Vita, which has so far struggled to make a big impact amidst competition from iOS and Nintendo's 3DS. Recent rumours of a PS3 'Super Slim' could also point to some kind of major hardware announcement for its home console too.
Gamescom runs from 15th - 19th August.
