Microsoft Game Studios Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer spoke in a recent interview regarding the company's position on re-releasing HD remakes of some of its most popular titles. And its not good news.
Asked if titles such as Halo 2 will see HD remakes, Spencer replied that the company isn't focused on going back to older titles any time soon. He did admit that it wasn't necessarily a bad idea but added that the company would have to consider if it was providing something of value at a price that the customer would be willing to pay. He added that:
"We obviously have a lot of new things going on, so the thought of re-doing a bunch of things is probably difficult to just weave into the overall portfolio."
Maybe you might like to look at the sales figures for Halo Reach as a measure of how well HD remakes of at least older Halo titles will perform Mr. Spencer?
