It never ends. Continuing the trend of TV shows becoming computer games, Atari has announced its plans to work with the Weinstein Co. to make a "
Project Runway" game. We're not kidding,
Variety's reporting it, queasy fashionista terminology and all.
Apparently the licensing deal between the two companies allow for a series of these games to appear too. The first game, an interactive version of the fashion reality show where hopeful designers put their skills to the test in front of industry judges, is expected to appear on the Nintendo Wii next spring. The game will use the Wii Remote and the Balance Board.
Co-chairman Harvey Weinstein's certainly happy about the announcement, stating that it will allow fans to "participate in the program they love by using this new medium as a tool to explore their creativity." He's referring to using the Wii Remote to create outfits and apply makeup in the game.
Jim Wilson, CEO of Atari, was also pleased; "Of all the brand opportunities out there, we thought ‘Project Runway’ was the leading fashion brand... The audience is building, the talent is recognizable. It reaches such a broad audience."
From
Centipede and, more recently,
Ghostbusters, to
Project Runway. Where did it all go wrong, Atari? No word if Namco Bandai Partners plan on bringing this to Europe, but brace yourselves. Just in case.
