Following the news that 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' is the title of the new GTA IV DLC for Xbox 360, we said, "Gamers can't identify themselves as lesbians in their Xbox Live profile, but if you publish one of the biggest games franchises in the world you can slap the word 'gay' in the name of your DLC... well, yes you can. That's what money is for damn it."

Well, it appears that new 'Gay' features are coming to Xbox Live. It's just that Microsoft can't tell us about them yet.

Speaking on the subject of 'Gay Tony' versus 'Gay Real People' at E3 Microsoft's John Schappert told Kotaku, "... Stephen (Toulouse - remember him? If you don't, check out this tale) continues to work with our team and we continue to look for ways for people to personally express themselves and you can look for more features coming to Xbox Live, but nothing to announce right now."

But what of the apparent hypocrisy of the DLC versus the real world?

"I think the two are very separate issues". They sure are: one concerns getting exclusive DLC for what was the world's most hyped and successful video game series (sorry, 'franchise') involving heaps of virtual sexual references onto your platform; the other concerns an almost puritanical aversion to 'young folk' seeing that real people are actually sexual.
