Half-Life 2 Goes WWII – Day of Defeat: Source Images

Uprated and ready to roll.

Posted by Staff
Valve has released the first images of the now hotly-anticipated Day of Defeat: Source, the uprated and re-worked update to the 2003 PC first-person shooter.

Valve claims that the whole game has been dramatically improved, employing technologies as debuted in the astounding Half-Life 2 and the well-received Counter Strike: Source.

However, looking at the freshly released screens, SPOnG wouldn’t be the first to point out that graphically, the game isn’t really up to that much. Given there’s a development platform change and two years of extended tinkering, DOD: Source doesn’t really look too much different from the 2003 original.

Anyway, running, of course, on the new Source Engine, Day of Defeat: Source, complete with new maps, character classes and integrated physics is expected for launch via Valve in time for Easter.

What I want to know is when Valve will give the Half-Life treatment to Natural Selection...

Well Valve don't own the rights to Natural Selection like they have with Counter Strike and Day of Defeat, since it published them, so Valve can't upgrade it. But I agree, Natural Selection is the only mod i want to see on source.
