Nokia’s N-Gage platform has had a rough ride of late, with the firm seeing rumours of a production halt compound news that the gaming phone had been de-listed from the official UK charts.
However, the firm has dismissed the recent Inquirer story that claimed that the N-Gage R&D and production facility in Germany would be shut down, just one of a number of budget cutbacks.
“These rumours are completely without foundation,” was the word from Nokia today. “We're looking at the strongest line-up of games yet for N-Gage. There's been so much money and effort poured into the system we're not going to pull out now.”
Although the N-Gage has suffered bad publicity of late, the appeal of the phone is still evident, in news that SPOnG had one if its QD units snatched from a bag on London Underground recently.
