SCEJ reveals PSP launch titles
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has shown what it described as a preliminary list of titles that will launch with the first PlayStation Portable revealing that the controversial console will see at least seven games from day one.

The confirmed titles are:

Armored Core: Formula Front : From Software
Everybody's Golf Portable : Sony
Mahjong Fight Club : Konami
Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory : Hudson
Ridge Racer PSP : Namco
Shin Sangoku Musou : Koei
Vampire Chronicle: The Chaos Tower : Capcom

As well as the confirmed titles, Sony claims to have more games that should hit in December, after or possibly on the PSP’s December 12th launch date. There are:

Doko Demo Issyo : Sony
Metal Gear Acid : Konami
Moji Pittan : Namco
Puyo Puyo Fever : Sega

The extended list of December titles may or may not see a release alongside the PSP console, though their status as hitting within weeks of it has been confirmed by SCEJ.

A fairly average list so far I'd say, I hope Ridge Racer is a cracking little title.

In the meantime Spong, could you explain to my fellow readers why you're still ignoring my emails on the prize you owe me? I'm getting a little pissed off now. Or are you too busy making up news stories from idle speculation again?

Schnide, bring it up somewhere else mate, e-mail them.

Anyway, i dont think thats too bad for release day. Ridge Racer looks great and Everybody's Golf should transfer well over to the handheld. Its not groundbreaking by any stretch of the imagination but not too bad.

The DS is being released around the same time only it has MarioKart. I can see which one will sell more. Sly move by Ninty.

Exactly! I think the launch list for the PSP is decent, but if Gran Turismo 4 was included there, it'd be at least 100% more appealing.

It's great to have Dynasty Warriors, Ridge Racers, Hot Shots Golf and Vampire Chronicle as launch titles, though.

Rengoku also looks very interesting and it could be an exciting original title.

Armored Core looks fantastic, but i'm not so sure what the new gameplay style will be like. It has potential!

Again, if they had one more original title ready at launch such as the great-looking Coded Arms, by Konami (even though it's a FPS, it's being developed by Konami and they have a lot of credibility on the japanese market), plus GT4, the number of PSP's sold at launch would definitely be higher than what it will actually be. But it's not a bad start at all.

Not a bad list, but it is for japan anyway.

Metal Gear Acid is welcome, (if any of you have played Konami's brilliant PS2 Ring of Red rpg you'll know what to expect) I know it looks odd to some but it's Metal Gear with maybe a turn based play slant.

Indeed Konami's FPS Coded Arms looks lovely. Ridge Racer would be a must buy for me, not as demanding as GT4 but fun instantly (hope it doesn't turn out like RR5 anyway).

I'm sure once the third party stuff is out of the bag things will pickup.

Bore, snore and btw you sound like a second grade hore. I will []D [] []V[] []D you out, if don't stop yer naggin' .

The PSP launch titles doen's look like the strongest out there at the moment; with not even a hint of a Tekken , Resident Evil nor a Rachet and Clank title. All in all it boils down to what good titles will be available - Halo 2 would have been nice

So yah, looks like DSP will be the way forward

I personally i think its fine and hopefully we will see a few decent additions by the type the EU release comes around. Im importing the DS in but ill leave the PSP until the release in the EU. I know so little about the games etc at the moment that im not going to jump in blind. Rdige Racer would also be a must buy for myself.
