Treasure's cult N64 favourite Sin and Punishment re-released via iQue

China gets some hardcore flavour

Although Nintendo's N64 days are long behind it, the China-orientated iQue has served to resurrect a few old favourites from that era. Although most of these have been fairly obvious selections: ones that wouldn't get old N64 owners with near-complete collections particularly excited, it has been confirmed today that Treaure's cult Japan-only shooter Sin & Punishment will be added to the list of downloadable iQue titles.

Sin & Punishment frequently soars above the odds when pitched on Ebay and it remains one of the most desirable titles for non-Japanese N64 completists. As such, this might prompt a few otherwise uninterested Nintendo fanboys to drop a line to their favourite importers. The intense gameplay is much akin to Panzer Dragoon, and visually it's quite impressive (considering the technology), it's also swearingly difficult and necessitates some serious shmupping skills - which serve to make S & P all the more hardcore and cultish.

It's a suprising choice for iQue re-release, as it's not the most mainstream title, but it's positive news for iQue owners. If this is followed up by a re-release of Treasure's other most toptastic shooting title, Bangai-O, we shall let you know.
