Jak 3 screens revealed.

Naughty Dog’s third Jak and Daxter game is shaping up well and should round off the trilogy nicely. Whilst this probably won’t be the last J&D game, as far as the storyline goes, this is the final chapter. Jak II represented a significant step forward for the motley pair, and the platforming action took on a more varied format, the nature of which encouraged comparison to the GTA school of open-gameplay. Jak III will place even greater emphasis on these aspects, manifest in the wide variety of vehicles up for grabs. The hover-board will make a welcome return, and there’ll be new additions like the dune buggy and a hang glider. Most importantly, some vehicles will also have mounted weaponry. "Mwu ha-ha-ha!"

Jak’s 'Darkside' eco powers will also be complemented by more friendly sounding 'Lightside' abilities. These will convert the spiky haired meister into angelic form, complete with wings and the power to heal. All in all, Jak III is just as expected. Fans of the first two games will enjoy the familiar gameplay, and the smattering of assorted improvements should be enough to mark the game down as something different.

The legacy will continue towards the end of 2004. Until then, here are some screenshots for your perusal.
