Bandai has released the first images of its upcoming WonderSwan Crystal, the third-generation update to its Japan-only handheld gaming push.
The original WonderSwan was well received by gamers, coming as it did with conclusive support from SquareSoft, making it an essential purchase for many Japanese players. Bandai then launched the WonderSwan Color to rival Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance, debuting the ‘Color complete with PlayStation 2 connectivity at the Tokyo Game Show.
Bandai UK told us that, at this point in time, there is no plan to release the WonderSwan Crystal in Europe. However, we can confirm that Bandai UK representatives are currently at the Tokyo Toy Show, specifically for the launch of the Crystal. It is expected that a decision will be made as to whether the console is a viable European product in the next week or so.
