With China opening up to console sales at last, Microsoft may well be less concerned with its never stellar sales of Xbox product in Japan. This isn't stopping it finally releasing the Xbox One in that country this year.
The PS4 has already stolen a march on its competitor, launching in Japan this February, so Microsoft's timing is to make the most of the Japanese love of all things new when it comes to things techie.
So, September 4th 2014 is the date. According to Microsoft the hardware will be supported by some 48 developers including local heroes Capcom, Square Enix and SEGA.
