"GTA IV Was Dark Times" Says Rockstar Boss
Rockstar North studio president Leslie Benzies is a key man when it comes to developing Grand Theft Auto titles. He wasn't happy when GTA IV was in action but not in the way you think.

"GTA IV was dark times", he admitted today, "We’d been Hot Coffee-d. We were thinking ‘We make video games, and [the US authorities are] doing this to us?!’” But surely that didn't affect the game itself?

Oh yes indeed it did, "Our darkness showed in IV, and we realised that", he admitted. But being a bit gay atually lifted the spirits, he told Develop, "So the DLC lightened it up a bit. Gay Tony especially was more flamboyant and bigger. The expansions added more energy.”

But enough of the past... what of the future?

"We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA VI will be, but we’ve got some ideas. GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain’t no rest between finishing V and then Online. Plus we have some other things – stuff, DLC, I don’t know how to describe it exactly – that we’d like to do, and we’ll pick the right ones.”

So, what do you want in GTAVI?

Maybe do Vice City for GTAVI?

@Daz THAT would be lush. They could easily sprawl out of the city to the mangrove swamps and the keys.
A big downside to a Miami-a-like is how flat it'll be, and I have to say the Vinewood Hills and mountains of Palomino & Blaine County make the driving so much fun.
After finishing the game, my biggest disappointment of V is the music. Oodles of eighties s**te music would be a WIN. There would *have* to be a nod to Dexter in there somewhere.

The next game should possibly take place in Vice City. That would be pretty cool.
