According to a report from The Financial Times, Microsoft is funding a remake of the BBC's vintage SF series Blake's 7.The show will be an Xbox Live exclusive, according to the paper. Microsoft has taken the rights from Syfy, which was previously lined up to remake the show.
Microsoft, of course, has not commented on the situation. The FT is citing "people familiar with the situation". The FT is, of course, a fairly reputable publication. Its assertion that "Microsoft recently launched the Xbox One" might cause you to question its credibility on this one, though.
Blake's 7 was created by Terry Nation, also credited as creator of the Daleks, and conceived as
The Dirty Dozen in space. It ran for four series, from the late '70s to early '80s.
The reboot is apparently being redeveloped by London-based Motion Picture Capital, though Microsoft is not currently committed to a full season.
