Naughty Dog's Creative Director, Neil Druckmann and Game Director, Bruce Straley for The Last of Us, have been speaking - well, typing - about the future of a highly lauded game.
In terms of the immediate but not defined future of what must surely turn into what the industry likes to call a 'Franchise' but what is in fact a licensing opportunity:
"DLC stuff coming soon-ish..." is the hint dropped on recent Reddit AMA.

Q: What are your plans for the future of The Last of Us?
Neil: "Currently working on single-player DLC. Talking about other ideas."
Q: Will any characters return in the DLC??
Neil: "Yes"
Q: Will the DLC for The Last of Us be singleplayer, multiplayer, or a mixture of both? Also, how many DLC's can we expect and when is the time frame for their release?
Neil: (Cryptically) "yep."
